“The bundle discount doesn’t show up in my cart.”
Bundle and volume discounts often come from an app. Its rules run inside Shopify but aren’t visible to other apps, so the app that made it is where to look.

Why it happens
A discount made by an app decides in the app’s own code which carts it applies to: how many items, which bundles, which customers. Shopify runs that code, but its conditions can’t be read from outside. So Checkout X-Ray says the app decided, and points at the app’s settings.
What it can still read are the discount’s combination settings. In the lab (24 October 2026), the Kaching Bundles discount didn’t apply to one Hydrogen board, and even if its logic had matched, “$10 off $80” doesn’t combine with product discounts, so the two couldn’t both apply. When the app’s discount loses to a code on price instead, the sentence gives both totals: Shopify chose the cheaper total.
What Checkout X-Ray reads
- Which app made each discount, and its kind and combination settings.
- Whether it applies with the codes taken away: when it doesn’t even then, the sentence adds that its own logic left this cart out.
What to look at in Shopify
The app’s own settings, in the app: which products, quantities or bundles it’s set up for. And the combination settings of the discounts in the cart, in Discounts, when the sentence names one that blocks it.
