“Checkout says the code isn’t available to me.”
A discount can be limited to some of your markets. A cart that ships to a country outside them doesn’t get it, and checkout doesn’t say that’s why.

Why it happens
Since May 2026 a Shopify discount can be limited to markets. A customer whose cart ships to a country in none of them can’t use it, and checkout tells them only that the code isn’t available to them right now: the same words it uses for a code that’s only for some customers.
XRAYUS15 was a code made on the lab store to see this live (21 October 2026): 10% off, a $1,000.00 minimum, for the market United States. One board sent to France got this sentence. The same board sent to the United States got a different one, because there the market was fine and the minimum wasn’t: the cart is under the minimum.
What Checkout X-Ray reads
- The markets each discount is limited to (up to 10 names).
- Every market the cart’s country belongs to, parent markets included, so a discount for a parent market isn’t blamed.
- When the country is in one of the discount’s markets, this reason steps aside and the others decide. When the markets can’t be read, the sentence asks you to check that the country is in one.
What to look at in Shopify
The markets the discount is limited to, in the discount’s settings, and which market the customer’s country is in, in Settings → Markets.
The sentence Checkout X-Ray writes for this reason, filled in for each cart: Discount is only for the market market; this cart ships to country, which isn’t in it.

Open the Simulator. Pick the products, type the code they used and the country it ships to, then calculate the price.
Read the answer
The price X-ray shows each layer, and every code that wasn't applied gets a sentence saying why. Save it as a test cart to have it checked again.
